- Submit Your Proof – Upload your proof of completion to the Per Scholas submission portal.
Tech Prep is always free. Per Scholas will never require you to purchase a course, subscription, certificate, platform upgrade, software, or other materials to complete required Tech Prep.
Per Scholas Critical Facilities Technician training moves quickly from the first day of class. Completing Tech Prep gives you an introduction to the math and electrical concepts that serve as the foundation for your technical training.
By completing Tech Prep, you'll build familiarity with:
- Arithmetic, measurements, units, and basic formulas
- Foundational electrical and electronics concepts
- Common technical vocabulary you'll hear throughout your training
Complete this required Tech Prep before your program begins to start your training prepared, confident, and ready to learn.
What You'll Complete
This Tech Prep includes two required online courses designed to prepare you for success in your Per Scholas program.
- Numbers, Units, and Arithmetic (approximately 5 hours)
- Introduction to Electronics (approximately 10–15 hours)
Need help getting started?
Create or sign in to your free Alison account, enroll in both required courses, and complete all course content and assessments. You do not need to purchase a certificate.
Submit Your Proof of Completion
After completing both required courses:
- Open your Alison learner dashboard and locate your completed courses.
- Take one full screenshot showing both required courses as completed. A paid certificate is not required.
- Save the screenshot with your full name and course names in the file name.
- Upload the screenshot using the submission portal.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Tech Prep Work required?
Yes. All learners enrolled in the programs listed above must complete this Tech Prep before beginning classes.
Does it cost anything?
No. The Alison courses are free to enroll in, study, and complete. Alison may offer a paid certificate, but Per Scholas does not require you to purchase it. A screenshot showing both courses as completed is accepted.
How long will it take?
Most learners complete Critical Facilities Technician Tech Prep in approximately 15–20 hours: about 5 hours for Numbers, Units, and Arithmetic and 10–15 hours for Introduction to Electronics.
Can I complete it at my own pace?
Yes. You may complete the required learning on your own schedule, provided it is finished before your assigned deadline.
What if I already have math or electrical experience?
You must still complete and submit both required courses. Tech Prep helps ensure every learner begins training with exposure to the same foundational concepts and terminology.
What happens if I don't complete it?
Completing your required Tech Prep is part of preparing for your program. Missing your deadline may affect your enrollment.
